Manifesto

Hiring software was built for big hiring teams. Most hiring happens on small ones.

Whoever does the hiring on a small team, the owner, the office manager, the one recruiter, gets the same pile and none of the help. We built Truffle for them.

01

The team that does its own hiring

Every hiring tool assumes a big team on the other side. Recruiters to read the resumes, coordinators to run the interviews, someone to tell you which few are worth your time.

Most hiring doesn't work like that. It happens on small teams. Sometimes the person doing it is the founder, or the GM who inherited it along with everything else. Sometimes it is the one recruiter or people lead with nobody under them. Sometimes it is the owner of a small agency, running a hiring book for other people.

They hire the same handful of roles again and again, and every opening brings a fresh pile. They are the most underserved buyer in the market. They are exactly who we build for.

02

Too many resumes is the easy problem

You post one role. By the next morning, hundreds of people have applied. Most are not right for it. A few might be great, hidden in the pile.

There is nobody to hand them to. So you read them yourself, usually at night, after the real work is done, in a spreadsheet you built. That takes time you don't have. But time is not the real problem.

03

The real problem is trust

You have to choose a stranger, pay them real money, and put them on a team where every person counts. And you have almost no proof they are right for the job.

A resume can lie. A title can make someone sound better than they are. An interview is one hour of someone at their best. That is why people say “hire fast, fire fast.” That is not a strategy. It is what you say when you have no better way to know who to trust.

On a team of four, one wrong hire is felt immediately. A big company absorbs it. A small one does not. So the need was never only to hire faster. It is to feel sure.

The machine should do the reading. The decision is still yours.
04

What Truffle actually does

Truffle is an AI screening platform for small teams that are always hiring. It does the reading for you. You decide what each role is screened on: resume criteria, one-way interview questions, an assessment, or any mix of the three.

Truffle reads every applicant against it, ranks them on what the role actually needs, and shows you the evidence behind every ranking. It works with job boards like Indeed or the ATS you already have. Nothing is auto-rejected. A pile of hundreds becomes a shortlist you can trust, and you make every call.

05

We came at this as operators

Every other tool wants the AI to decide. We don't. As it gets better, the temptation is to let it choose for you. We think that is exactly backwards.

Truffle was started by a founder who spent years running and growing teams, and doing the hiring that came with them. Some of us have recruited for a living. All of us have been the one left with a pile and no time. Nobody here signed up for that. Neither did you.

So we are not here to defend how hiring has always worked. We are here to make it something you can actually get right.

See it on your next role.
